While there may be a ‘titular’ heroine decided from taking into consideration the themes presented, none of the heroines were really given ‘special’ treatment, which made it so that they that dwarfed the rest. The novel’s greatest strength is that it doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses. It has six heroines, all with satisfying, conclusive routes. Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai has incredible production quality not just in scope, but surprisingly, in consistency. It’ll begin with a brief structural outline, followed by more detailed character profiles/concluding thoughts on the next page. With that said, this review’s going to be a little different than my usual conceptual reviews, since this game doesn’t really have a lot of hard plot. The quality of the routes range from being fantastic to good there is no mediocre, and there is no bad. This is a work that I can’t find many complaints about. The reasoning for it is simple - A ‘ kamige‘ as mentioned, borders on perfection. I think that HoshiOri certainly has the ‘air’ of a ‘ kamige‘. And it excels, both in developing atmosphere and in executing interaction. But, it is consistent enough, both in strength and enjoyability. Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai isn’t quite perfect. Its scope is far too narrow, and as such, its potential abated. Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai isn’t quite a masterpiece. Even when it comes to novels that I dub as masterpieces, they’re far from being perfect. Since I have a habit of complaining, I didn’t think that I’d ascribe a game with the title of ‘ kamige‘. Within the realm of visual novels, a ‘ kamige‘ is defined as a work on the ambit of perfection.
